ProgramsStumbling Blocks to Stepping Stones
Incorporating "stories" of famous past "failures" from scripture,
including Moses, David, Rahab, Mary Magdalene, etc. and then modern
“failures” such as Eleanor
Roosevelt, Lucille Ball, and Michael Jordan scriptural and
inspirational presentation is three-fold: 1) to examine and face
"stumbling blocks in our own lives 2) to determine ways and find
tools to get past these blocks
Get Out of The Boat
This
hard-hitting presentation is a "wake-up call" for each of us to
receive Christ’s command to “Launch out into the Deep.” Just as
Christ called his disciples to do the same when they were not
catching any fish, we too cannot be successful if we choose to stay
in our comfortable little “boats”. Dr. Peppers scripturally relates
how she learned to make daily attitude adjustments, set God’s
priorities and goals above her own, and find others who would assist
her in doing so. Learning how our physiological and intellectual
responses are often dictated by our emotions, we learn to realize
the enormous amount of time and energy we spend on the petty things
that don't really matter. Christ confidence is emphasized (not
self-confidence) and Debra leaves the audience with scriptures they
can use to step into the calling on their own lives. She also gives
practical tools for not internalizing situations, how to be
proactive instead of reactive and strategies for personal
fulfillment in our relationships and the call on our life. Where God
guides, He provides!
Take Off the MaskIn both our professional and personal lives, we waste so much time and energy trying to "fit the mold" and "keep up with the Joneses". Once we realize that our personality types, our particular God-given strengths and our weaknesses are all supposed to be different, we can learn to move on and allow others to see the “real us”. Incorporating a brief overview of different men and women from scripture who learned to get real and take off their proverbial masks, Debra demonstrates the importance of interpersonal communication skills and the necessity for us to be humble, yielded vessels Christ can use. The most difficult thing for some of us to do is to reveal who we really are in our vulnerability and honesty. Debra shares this part of herself and encourages others to do so in their own families, church settings and even in their professions. In a time when we supposedly celebrate diversity and individuality, why do we keep trying to wear masks to impress others – or to hide from them? Jesus revealed himself for us – can we do any less?
Here are a few of Debra's other most requested presentations
